How Will He Find You?

so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him.” Hebrews 9:28

I can’t help but wonder sometimes where I will be or what I will be doing if Christ returns while I’m still alive. The bible tells us that no one, not even the angels or Jesus Himself knows the day or hour that is appointed for His return. The time for preparation is now, because He will return in the blink of an eye.

This is why you also must be ready, because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” Matthew 24:44

However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son Himself. Only the Father knows.” Matthew 24:36

For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.” Matthew 24:27

“in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52

Sure, God is both omnipresent and in His omniscience He sees and knows everything, but when He returns will He find us doing His work and eagerly waiting for Him or will He catch us in something that we shouldn’t be doing, will we be living in purity or will He catch us covered in the filth of sin? I think this is something for us all to think about and for us all to remember, take to heart, and live in our day to day lives.

Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;” 2 Peter 3:14

God we come before You broken and in humility. As we consider all of the times that Christ Jesus could have already returned only to catch us in the midst of sin we ask Your forgiveness and beg Your mercy for ourselves. Please help us to remember that Christ’s second coming could be at any moment and help us to be conscious of that as we conduct our lives and make decisions about what we do and what activities we engage in. Help us to understand the scriptures and to know what is right and what is wrong. Help us to hear Your still small voice as we seek to do what is right and pleasing in Your eyes. Please bless my brothers and sisters in Christ today and help us all to see Your glorious face. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN
