“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,” Philippians 1:9-10 ESV 

Sovereign God, You are magnificent, wondrous, and glorious in Your ways! I lift up my thanks and praise to You today! Even when we can’t see the work that You are doing and even when we are suffering we can be assured that You are working on our behalf and I thank You and praise You for that. I lift up my brothers and sisters whom I can call my own because of the saving grace and blood of Jesus. Help us each and every one to learn from these verses and to lean into You ever closer as we go through our journey in this life. Help us to realize and to put the temporal things of this life in their proper place and help us to turn to a more spiritual way of living. Kindle the fire that burns inside of each of us who are Your children and stoke it until it is white hot and burning to Your glory and for all to see. Give us a passion, courage and boldness to share the gospel of Christ to those around us as You put us in front of people in different situations. Nudge us, give us the words, and open our mouths to share Jesus with them and give us the means and a heart to show them in our works and deeds. As these verses say, teach us and let Your knowledge soak deeply into our spirits and give us strong and sharp discernment to the things that You call excellent. Show us Your love for us today and shine down Your glorious face upon us. I pray these things in Christ’s name; AMEN!
