the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,  Ephesians 1:18 NKJV 

 

Let’s read this again with the inline commentary of the Amplified Version. 

And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (God’s people), Eph 1:18 AMP 

 

Sovereign God, I bow my heart and spirit in humility at Your feet. I love You and I need You so very much. I thank You and give you Praise. I join in prayer with my brothers and sisters in Christ on my heart and in my mind. Please teach us through Your Holy Spirit and help us to understand the truth in this verse. Soak it deeply into our hearts and spirits and give us the peace and joy that Your word promises. Father, there are so many needs, so much suffering, and so many desires in our lives right now. I lift up each one to You right now, even those unspoken by my brothers and sisters and ask that You would shine Your glorious face upon us and answer each and every petition and prayer to the fulfillment of Your will for our lives. Please fulfill each one as Your will allows so that we will know Your goodness and grace personally and so that we will have testimonies to share with each other also. You, God alone are worthy of all glory, honor, and praise! We worship You and thank You for Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your grace. I pray these things in the glorious name of Christ Jesus our Savior and King; AMEN!
