Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. Father God, I love You and I give You thanks and praise! All glory, honor, and praise belong to You and You alone. I come to You today lifting up my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus as well. Help us to not get caught up in the traditions and trappings of the season in a way that takes our focus off of You and of the real meaning of Christmas. We thank you for all of the good things that You give us to enjoy and for all that You entrust us with daily. Help us to be good stewards of those things and mindful of those who don’t have those things to enjoy so that we may draw them in and share of the abundance that You have given us. Thank You most of all for the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. I pray these things in His glorious name; AMEN
