2_Corinthians_1:3-4_800x533_Forelle

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.  2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NLT

I think this is a good thing to remember on a daily basis. I find that even in my times of deepest trouble and brokenness that if I take the time to comfort and to help encourage someone else that God uses the words and compassion that He gives me to comfort and encourage me as well. How amazing and wonderful that is when we think about it.

Sovereign God, I love You and I give You thanks and praise. You and You alone are worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. I lift up my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus and ask that You please let these verses sink deeply into our hearts and minds today. Lord bless us and keep us.  Shine Your glorious face upon us, and be gracious to us.  God of hope, lift up Your countenance upon us, show us Your favor, give us Your peace.  May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with our spirits and fill us with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Many of us are suffering and need to see Your mighty hand at work in our lives. Hear our prayers and petitions and be gracious to us. We need You and we acknowledge that we can’t change our situations on our own. Please work miracles in our lives and pour out Your abundant blessings and gifts upon us. The bible tells us in Proverbs 13:12 how deferred and unfulfilled hopes and dreams makes our hearts sick but that the fulfillment of those things brings newness of life and rejuvenation. Give us a spirit of joy and peace, of courage and boldness so that we may share the gospel of Christ and the greatness of Your love for us with others who need to hear. I pray these things in the name of Christ Jesus my Savior and Lord, AMEN!
