The Path that Jesus Walked…

John_3:16_533x800_Lighthaus

For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  John 3:16 NLT

Many many things have been going through my mind and heart lately. Unfortunately, my life has been colored with many forms of suffering for a long time now. When I stop and step away and look back though I have this whisper speak deep into my spirit. It’s a whisper that says, “My grace is sufficient”. I am also reminded that if we choose the road that follows Christ; that it’s a road that leads down the path of experiencing this world as He did. What I’m trying to say is that scripture tells us that we will suffer as Christ suffered and experience this world with the mobs scoffing at us, mocking us, turning and rejecting us, etc. The devil will do his very best to try to get us to step away from our faith. Remember, Jesus even told us that we will have trials and suffering in this world.

The good news is that suffering isn’t the end of this story. This story ends in joy because on the third day Christ arose! This story ends in resurrection and we must hold on to that hope. Brothers and sisters, if we’re to fully believe and trust in God for the impossible then we must have hope that He can resurrect our broken dreams, broken hopes, and lost desires. We must believe that in our darkest day when all hope seems lost that resurrection is coming.

As we move into a time of reflection this Easter, let’s remember that no matter what we have to endure in this life that Jesus endured the ultimate suffering. That suffering was endured not only can we be children of the Most High God, but that we can have hope in the power of His resurrection. We have to remember that “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Father God, I love You and I give You thanks and praise. I confess that You are the God Most High, the Sovereign Creator of the Universe and all things there in. You always were and always will be. I bow before You today in remembrance of Your great gift to us through sending Your one and only Son Jesus to this earth to die and pay for our sin so that we don’t have to. I confess Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord and I lift up my eyes to You as the source of everything including my very existence. I know that You know all things and that You are completely aware of our suffering and our joy, our failures and our victories, and even the number of hairs on our heads. Still, I lift up my brothers and sisters to You and lay our needs at Your feet. We are in need of Your love, Your joy, and Your peace. We are in need of deliverance, rescue, provision, and resurrection in our lives. Please Sovereign God, bless us and keep us.  Shine Your glorious face upon us, and be gracious to us.  God of hope, lift up Your countenance upon us, show us Your favor, give us Your peace.  May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with our spirits and fill us with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit. I humbly ask these things in the name of Your Son and my Lord Jesus Christ; AMEN!

Do you know someone who needs to hear the good news of Jesus: Please share my post “The Most Important Thing!”
